Charters Towers Golf Club

Golf in historic Charters Towers.
Dalrymple Road, Charters Towers, QLD, Australia, 4820

Charters Towers has a wealth of history. After gold was discovered in 1871 it boomed, and became the second largest city in Queensland. Charters Towers had its own Stock Exchange and more than 50 hotels. Today you can still visit the gold-crushing mill, the Stock Exchange Arcade, The World Theatre, Heritage buildings, Museums and cottages, remainders of that gold rush era. Queensland's second oldest newspaper is still here too.

For a time Charters Towers was a virtual ghost town but today, with much having been restored, parks, gardens and new facilities have brought life back to the area. Charters Towers Golf Club is a part of this revival.
